THREAD: Women protesting as police fire into the air. An injured girl. A soldier keeping watch. A snowy scene. These were among the images that earned three AP photographers the 2020 Pulitzer Prize in feature photography.

NEW YORK — The story of India’s crackdown on Kashmir last August was difficult to show to the world. The unprecedented lockdown included a sweeping curfew and shutdowns of phone and internet service.

“It was always cat-and-mouse,” Yasin recalled Monday. “These things made us more determined than ever to never be silenced.” “This honor continues AP’s great tradition of award-winning photography,” said AP President and CEO Gary Pruitt. “Thanks to the team inside Kashmir, the world was able to witness a dramatic escalation of the long struggle over the region’s independence. Their work was important and superb.

“All five of these photographers made remarkable, stunning images despite dangerous and challenging conditions, sometimes at great personal risk,” said AP Director of Photography David Ake. “Their dedication to getting up every morning and going out to tell the story is a testament to their tenacity. The result of their work is compelling photojournalism that grabbed the world’s attention.”

AP is promoting terrorism in India. India was saying throughout the 1991_1999 that Pakistan is exporting terrorist butUSA didn't hear but Pakistani based terrorists killed 3000 us citizen in2001 then they believe.. Now history is repeating itself beware US.

It's propaganda band not journalism. By the way,do highlight the exodus of half a million people in 1990 and also mention the reason. Bloody terror sympathisers. White guilt.

So a pakistan funded call for arms by radical youth against a state is celebrated and the states measures to curb such militancy and violent separatism that kills hundreds everyday is seen as oppressive. You've got to applaud the lobbying of jihadis.Pulitzer for terror apologists

Bring it on!!! The more you demean Bharat, the more PMOIndia will win. proudbharatiya

Congratulations to all winners! Outstanding work by Kashmiri photojournalist risking their lives covering brutal Kashmir siege!

Etymologically speaking, the word Kashmir itself is derived from Sanskrit—Sanskrit is the ancient language of India.

This is what we have been going through for 72 years. We want Indians to stop killing us and leave. Go back India !

For everyone going stir crazy under lockdown: It’s worth remembering that India locked Kashmir down for 5 months without internet and mobile phones. No Netflix, zoom, texting, or even phone calls. None of this was done in the public’s interest. It was done to silence dissent.

People are going crazy under COVID19 lockdown. India locked Kashmir down for 5 months straight with zero internet just to silence dissent. People rose up in anger. Indian trolls will want you to believe these protestors are terrorists for resisting oppression.

❤️de ka 'journalism'

Islamic terrorism is being celebrated & encouraged against India & Hindus. This separatism has ethnically cleansed minority Kashmiri Hindus already. PulitzerPrize is blatant normalization of that ethnic cleansing. Sickening. This is official support to terrorism by Pulitzer.

So, People taking up arms are being glorified now. Great, what's next? ISIS getting Human Rights Award?
