American actor Dimitri Diatchenko, who was best known for his role in “The Chernobyl Diaries” and for appearing in “Indiana Jones”, has died. He was 52.
Diatchenko was found dead at his Florida home on Wednesday after his family asked police to do a wellness check. They had not heard from him in days, TMZ reports. While autopsy results are pending, Deadline reports that Diatchenko’s agent said the actor’s death appeared to be either a heart attack or related to an electric shock on a job the week prior.
Diatchenko was a native of San Francisco. California, and a first-generation American; his father is Ukrainian and his mother was of Greek and Swedish descent. Dimitri Diatchenko’s acting career began in the late 1990s, as he made appearances on some television series during this time. After appearing on the action television series Alias, some of his most well-known roles to date came in 2008, as he appeared in the motion pictures. He was known for portraying Russian characters.
In addition to acting, Diatchenko worked as a voice actor. His voice has been featured in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Family Guy and The Wild Thornberries.
