The Statler Brothers frequently sang backup for country icon Johnny Cash. Some of their biggest hits included 1965's “Flowers on the Wall” and 1970′s “Bed of Rose’s.”
“He is and will always be loved by his family, friends and millions of fans," a statement on the band's website said."His singing, his songwriting and his comedy made generations happy. He has taken a piece of our hearts with him.”
Sorry for your loss
My dad was a fan, so I heard quite a bit of the band while sitting and waiting, in the family station wagon, for mom to finish the grocery shopping. RIP. . .

A legendary voice that definitively stood out.

😢
I never was a Statler Brothers fan but I remember growing up and my dad would play the 8-track of these guys in his truck. I can recall the music but it was more about seeing my dad sing along with these guys with the windows down in the summer. RIP
Omg, I remember his low voice & how everyone tried to sing that low a note. My condolences to his family & friends. 💐💗💐
