For the first time, the pandemic is letting Billy Porter focus on writing, which he's doing for five hours every morning. One finished product: His new song, 'For What It's Worth.' Listen to it here.

] is a throwback to political music. I think in recent generations, artists have gotten afraid to speak for fear of alienating an audience; but we've got to talk, we've got to speak. It's the people who make the change, it'swho make the difference. That has been helping me a lot, knowing that I'm going to have my voice out during this time.

As a multi-hyphenate kind of person, I've never — except for going to a writer's retreat one time for three weeks a couple of years ago — had the luxury of just. I've always had to fit my writing in between stuff. I've been writing every day from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. It's really been life-changing for me.

I'm writing my memoir right now, so I'm working on that; I'm also working on a children's picture book and a pilot script I'm developing and I'm writing a musical. So there's a lot of stuff for me to do."I never wrote until I startedI found my way to writing to an artist workbook calledby Julia Cameron. She speaks of training yourself to wake up every morning and write three pages longhand of whatever comes to your mind.

Make me throw up

This corrects an early tweet that said Porter wrote his new song. It's a cover of a song written by Stephen Stills.

There’s going to be an explosion of material for all the studios to pick from once this is over and hopefully they’ll rehire all the creatives who got laid off & hire a bunch more who are unemployed.

And here's Buffalo Springfield doing Billy Porter's 'new' song way back in 1967.

Love him

No mention of this in this article, but I feel it's important, as the article reads like this is a revolutionary brand new song... This song is a cover of For What it's Worth by Buffalo Springfield. He did a great job with it, but it's worth pointing out, it's a cover.

We care, exactly, why? Millions of Amerikans are suffering financially and emotionally as a result of our lack of leadership, and we need to be plagued with this garbage. Time to block .

Porter: Congress should show Americans 'we can adapt' to pandemic with remote votingRep. Porter on the need for remote voting amid coronavirus pandemic: “Congress is calling on all kinds of nonprofits, public school teachers, institutions and businesses — to be creative, to adapt, and to use technology — we need to be leading by example” Isn’t there a saying for that? Like practice what you preach. I love seeing these lazy POS have to fly back and work. They should sleep on the floor until the people's work is done. Can you also lead by example and move to Medicare for your health plan? And get the kind of benefits that the unemployed get? Or the poor?
