On Friday evening, ARL Commission chairman Peter V'landys confirmed to AAP that the NRL and broadcasters would finalise a competition structure early next week, as both parties want different outcomes. "We were all united on the 28th May start. But just the competition structure, we need a little more time — but we definitely announce it early next week," he said.The agreement between the competition and the broadcasters comes two days after ARL commissioner Wayne PearceThe competition's 16 clubs have been told they can restart training on May 4.

At 5:00pm on Friday, club chief executives were sent an email from head office confirming the measures would not be forwarded until the weekend. There will be no way of maintaining community wide distancing if this is allowed to go ahead. We are either all in this together or we are not. NRL is not ‘essential’!
