Dennehy passed away from natural causes not related to coronavirus at his Connecticut home yesterday evening, with his wife Jennifer and son Cormac by his side, his agent said in a statement to AFP. After a recurring role in Dynasty in 1981, Dennehy came to prominence the following year playing the overzealous sheriff who takes on Sylvester Stallone’s John Rambo in First Blood.
The 2000 television film adaptation of Death of a Salesman earned a Golden Globe for Dennehy, who was also nominated for six Emmys.
Rambo:First Blood, and the FX films are my first standout memories. He has been in so many films and always played a blinder. RIP dear sir.

F/X and its sequel were CONSTANTLY on RTE growing up. Have a huge soft spot for them and Brian Dennehy is great in them. Also liked his performance in Cocoon. Very underrated actor.
