Tom Hardy portrays a still-ruthless and dementia-stricken Al Capone in the first trailer for the VOD-bound 'Capone'

, a film about the final year of the gangster’s life.

“Once a ruthless businessman and bootlegger who ruled Chicago with an iron fist, Alfonse Capone was the most infamous and feared gangster of American lore. At the age of 47, following nearly a decade of imprisonment, dementia rots Alfonse’s mind and his past becomes present,” the film’s synopsis states.

“Harrowing memories of his violent and brutal origins melt into his waking life. As he spends his final year surrounded by family with the FBI lying in wait, this ailing patriarch struggles to place the memory of the location of millions of dollars he hid away on his property.”energy to the title role as he fires Tommy guns and walks over piles of dead bodies in scenes real and imagined.

“The distributor is still hoping for a theatrical release later in the summer as things return to normal,” Vertical Entertainment said, while director Josh Trank added of, “Planned as theatrical, but hopefully will be on the big screen later this year!”

Cultural appropriation !

Just from this photo you can see an Academy Award nomination or win. 🏆

Why not get someone older? Or I dunno someone who looks like he has italian genes? We keep hearing about diversity and whatnot but it seems like it only goes on way... Not saying Tom Hardy wont be good, no doubt he will. But if you are gonna potray real life-

Tired of UK actors playing amens tbh

Shades of Vinny Chase’s terrible Pablo Escobar makeup

Biff Tannen energy

Does he actually speak more than one line, or just look like he ate a lemon the whole movie?

Brando vibes

I love Mafias movies and Tom hardy is a incredible talent

Is Al Capone the new code word for Trump? 🤣

freeshajj alpha leaders gonna have a field day with this

Bad casting

alexaChRichart :o

I just can’t picture Vernom playing Capone...not for me. I’ll watch this movie in three years time

Hmmmm, looks like another remake of sorts....Hollywood BLOWS.

Looks good. Can’t wait!

Ooh!!!!

Tom Hardy could play a phone book and make it exciting. Dude has some serious acting chops. I wonder, though, if Hardy could bring off funny. Do a comedy. I’d love to see that.

I’d rather he portrays a still-ruthless James Delaney in season 2 of TabooFX

So glad to see Tom Hardy incredible talent get great roles. Looking forward to this..

This movie was filmed more than two years ago. I think Venom was filmed after this and look how long ago that was. Don’t think this director has his shit together...

This will be awful

like ron kray, in legend
