I’m honestly surprised we don’t hear these stories more often. People come up with all sorts of innovative hiding spots for their precious metals and surely some of it is never retrieved.

The more important thing is the carved soapstone jar they broke. SMH. WE KNOW THEY HAD GOLD COINS!
Sell them in auction outside Italy & divide the money among ALL Italians EQUALLY! The country could use this boost.
