Adriana Restrepo is the new President of Sony Music Andes

can confirm. Restrepo will step in as the top executive overseeing the the Andean region as its former president Alejandro Jiménez Afanador transitions to his new position at Sony Music Latin Iberia joining their A&R team.

"I want to express my gratitude to Afo Verde, chairman & CEO of Sony Music Latin Iberia for this opportunity to lead, which I take as a great challenge," Restrepo said in a statement."It's a privilege to work for Sony Music, I am very conscious of the excellent musical catalogue and the great artists signed to Sony and of course, to work alongside a good team in the Andean region.

Restrepo joins Sony after leading Codiscos, one of the oldest and largest record labels and publishers in South America. One of her accomplishments there was extending Codiscos' publishing deals with Sunflower Entertainment which expanded rights in key European territories and monetization on YouTube, Facebook and other technology platforms.

"Our main focus now is to take care, protect and support our artists and our team during this global pandemic, we wanted to share this important update about our Andean region," Verde said."I want to give a warm welcome to Alejandro and Adriana. I trust that both will contribute great things for our amazing artists, in the Andean region and also Latin Iberia region."

About his new role at Sony Music Latin Iberia, Jiménez said,"It's an exciting challenge to join the Sony Music Latin Iberia team. The artists part of Sony Music are impressive and to be able to participate in the artistic development area, will be a privilege for me. I want to thank Afo for giving me this opportunity and responsibility. The Andean region will have a top executive who I foresee will have much success in that wonderful region, full of talent and music.
