Labor is accusing Prime Minister Scott Morrison of double standards saying he must self-isolate after Peter Dutton tested positive to COVID-19. Cabinet was declared safe despite Peter Dutton meeting with the whole cabinet, including Prime Minister Scott Morrison, on Tuesday. Medical professionals advised no one else needs to be isolated or tested because at that stage the minister was yet to show symptoms.
Shadow Health Minister Chris Bowen has urged the prime minister to self-isolated because "it is not appropriate that there is any double standards at play". Peter Dutton said he woke up with a temperature and sore throat on Friday morning and immediately contacted Queensland health authorities. Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka was in contact with Minister Dutton when he visited the country this week and she confirmed she will work from home as precaution.
