A total of 8,000 people aged 15 to 59 were surveyed in 17 countries from Oct. 4 to 20, 2019 by the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the results were released recently.
BTS were chosen by the respondents as the top favorite Korean singer, getting 15.2 percent while BLACKPINK got second place with 6.5 percent; Psy, 5.7 percent; TWICE, 2.8 percent; and Big Bang, 2.5 percent. Other names in the survey were Girls’ Generation, G-Dragon, EXO, IU and Super Junior. In 2018, BTS also topped the survey with 10.3 percent followed by Psy, BLACKPINK, Big Bang and EXO.
