I used to spend a lot of time reading snarky online comments about other women’s lives – until I decided to put an end to it for my sanity

It’s 3am and I’m on Reddit. I’m reading a thread of comments that number in the thousands, scrolling through missive after missive, unpopular opinions, all. I’m reading about the women on this season for The Bachelor. Some commenters rip apart their fashion choices, others discuss the contestants’ faces, debating endlessly about whether this woman had fillers, that woman had Botox.

I have been the target of one of those 'hate communities' for years. I always wonder about the people that read this stuff but never comment or like or reblog...some of them my own mutuals. So this hits close to home. And the bullies always get away.

The first step is admitting you have a problem, Good luck shaking the habit!

No harsher critic of a woman than other women for reasons that will no doubt be linked to cultural/social conditioning by men.

So are men equal rights for all

The biggest critics of women? Women. Shocking!

I’m not but we know *you* are!

Speak for yourself

We are?

But your appalling cartoon image of PritiPatel is OK?

I experienced an 11 year 'dogpiling' it escalated 4 yrs ago and became very personal. It took quite a toll and included hacking and account deletions by the hacker. It extended to my life and my community. It included 'single white female' elements that scream BPD or sociopath.

What on earth?! We Speak for yourself, if anything I’m addicted to videos of cats riding Roombas 😎

Women like it and it ups circulation.

citation To gossip is a human characteristic. (Painting: 'Gossips' by Norman Rockwell).

'It's so toxic': why journalists are addicted to using the journalistic 'we' to describe their own habits & produce clickbait.

Like drawing controversial cartoons and smearing a female of an ethnic minority? 👀👀 PritiPatel PrettyPatel

'We'?!?!?

Anyone wondering why The Guardian is floundering in an industry crying out for alternative voices, this is a perfect example of their teen vlogger navel gazing that passes itself of as journalism. Nepotistic, insular and safe.

That is because women get their status from men. Women compete for same men so they need to stab the competitors into their backs. Gossips are weapons in this.

I think, people get too involved in shows like this and like to psychoanalyse humans as if they were characters in fiction. Social media has created a platform for people to debate, bitch, praise. Truth is they are not fictional characters, they are humans playing a game

You should know PritiPatel

I’m not. Please remove this rather toxic headline.

I'm sure MOST people are not

I’m not.

Please don't include me in this 'we'

I’m not
