Minister Jenny Mikakos said she was “flabbergasted" the doctor returned to work following a trip to the US. Doctor Chris Higgins – who is also the father of Australian singer Missy Higgins – had treated at least 70 patients before diagnosis.
In a Facebook comment, Mr Higgins said: “As the doctor concerned, I have been upset about the inaccuracies and unfairness of your comments." “I had a mild cold when I returned from the USA last Saturday morning - which had almost resolved itself by Monday morning “I anyway for completeness, not imagining for one moment it would turn out to be positive. I believe you have taken a cheap opportunity for political grandstanding.

He would be the reason why the virus is worsening in Victoria but Mikakos's comment was what I truly condemned.
He said he had a middle cold but if he tested positive, it wasn't a middle cold... He shouldn't come back to work. He is the one who should apologise to his patients.

sorry for poor Doctor but if he can't tell difference between bad cold, flu and Coronavirus, what hope for rest of us? Sure, self isolate is great, but for those who traditionally 'tough it out' (usually the more mature) the realisation of critical status could be much too late

he knew he was unwell, as a Dr he should of been aware of the current outbreak in the world, he should of tested as soon as he got home, but instead he has put other lives at risk through his inadequacies and irresponsbilities, glad he's not my Dr coronavirusaustralia
He thought he had caught a cold, something returning travellers are asked to be on the alert for. In Australia, doctors are put on pedestals, so we must be able to trust them to do the right thing. Doesn't cut it doc.
Did you not go to work with flu like symptoms at a time of a pandemic and put hundreds of lives in danger because of your incompetence?
If what Dr Higgins states is true that he only had a slight cold after returning back to Australia on the Saturday & by Monday he fully recovered then I can see his point of view. There’s always 2 sides to every story

How self-centered this doctor is - still think he is right.
Australia is not an authoritarian government and when there are people like Dr Higgins (Toorak Clinic) or this hotel guy that knowingly put lives at risk, they must be dealt quickly by the authorities. If not, then Australia is SCREWED and a pandemic will kill in the thousands.
One word describes his actions “irresponsible”. No excuses can warrant his actions. These are different times.
