'Joker' beats the other Oscar nominees, which included '1917' and 'The Irishman,' for the Most Dangerous Movie award

Now Kaspersky has revealed that Joker was the name associated with a total of 304 of those 925 malicious files it discovered. Trailing by some margin in the runner-up position was 1917 with 215 malicious files, and The Irishman came third in this dishonorable awards category with 179. Interestingly, the first South Korean film to get a Best Picture nomination, Parasite, had no malicious activity associated with it at the time of the research.

Kaspersky also dug deeper into the relationship between movie availability and the appearance of illegal copies and the malicious activity associated with them. After general release at the cinema, it said, some movies were found to have no such malicious activity happening online. However, as soon as the movie started being streamed on Netflix, things changed.
