Sam Mendes’s nerve-shredding war drama 1917 was the big winner at the 2020 Bafta film awards, on an evening when the movie industry’s diversity problem hovered ominously in the background.

I enjoyed it. Hardly best film though, the direction perhaps but the novelty shot lasted an hour the rest was in the vein of Dunkirk and Chirchill. Bit propagandist, the one German was pure evil killing the hero.. just shows the power of PR

BAFTAs 2020: Viewers 'switch off' moments into coverage as they slam show - 'Painful!'BAFTAS 2020 aired on BBC One this evening, with stars from the world of film gathering together to celebrate each other's achievements. However, viewers weren't too happy with coverage as some decided to 'switch off,' as they couldn't bare watching. These shows need to come off air now!! I already switched it off while watching the red carpet livestream on youtube since the sound lag was too awful :( I hope I can find a better version to properly watch it tomorrow Awful
