The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards attracted the attention of many Nigerians because of the nomination of Afrobeats singer, Burna Boy, in the World Music category. Many rooted for him to win but Beninese singer, Angelique Kidjo, took home the gong for the fourth time. Though Burna Boy didn’t get the opportunity to have his name added to the list of Grammy Award winners, there are some other Nigerians who have earned that right.
Seal first got international attention when he released the song, Crazy, in 1991, but it was in 1994 when he put out Kiss From a Rose, that his super star status was cemented. The song also earned him multiple Grammys for ‘Record of the Year’, ‘Song of the Year’ and ‘Best Male Pop Vocal Performance’ at the 1996 edition of the programme.
