In her post, Rachel opened up about experiencing suicidal ideation, getting treatment in a mental health facility, and how that changed her life.

As she prepares to compete in the Miss USA pageant, Rachel said she's excited to be the first openly bisexual woman in the pageant to show others that queer people are beauty queens, too. But she also said she wants to represent people with : It's pretty unexpected because I knew this would be a pretty monumental thing, and it happened in Utah. That's very exciting and [it's an honor] to get to participate. It's a [milestone] for the entire LGBTQ and pageant community.I came out last year. It was really scary, it was really vulnerable. Some of my biggest fears about coming out were things I had to address with myself.
