“Lindsey’s legacy is alive and well, and as it should be.' Mick Fleetwood talks to us about Lindsey Buckingham, his Peter Green tribute show, future plans and more

No. But it seems he’s going to come. He wants to keep a very, very low profile, and that’s fine. This is about the journey Peter took into the music, and that music is still alive. Everyone that’s on this show has their own poignant story about being connected to that early band. Not as of the moment. He’s in the middle of one of his sailing trips. But Christine [McVie] will be there.Neil Finn did a really good job on that. It’s a very prophetic song.

Peter was one of about 10 guitarists who have left the band over the years. Why can’t you and John ever hold onto guitarists? We don’t really know. It’s daunting when you look at all the great guitarists that have come through our ranks. But John and I have always just kept the band going. We can’t do this on our own. Every time [someone leaves] we go, “Well, what the fuck are we going to do now? Find another guitar player!”There’s always been talk about doing something like that. I hope it can happen at some point. A lot of people, understandably, would say, “Wow, that would make a really good musical.

It’s actually coming off the road that’s the downer. You find yourself wondering why you start to get antsy around 8 p.m. It’s this military-type of stress where you just keep going and going, so you have to be careful with how you work your re-entry so you don’t beat yourself up too much.is preparing a long solo tour.

We had a lovely get-together in L.A. about two weeks ago after the tour. We are all very open to that continuing in the band. There’s no breaking up of the band. We were like, “Give us a break. Give us a few weeks before we start wondering what to do.” In the New Year, we’ll touch on what the vision is.We’re not going to do a [long] tour, I would say, ever again. But there’s loads of alternatives.

Extremely sad Mick hasn’t even had courtesy to communicate with Lindsey after his heart attack. Without Lindsey (and Stevie obviously) Fleetwood Mac would never have had the career they’ve had. Finn & Campbell fine musicians. But the line up sadly doesn’t have same chemistry

Why is it OK for StevieNicks to not write/record new songs for album that became Buckingham/McVie? Or to go on solo tours? But Lindsey gets fired? Neil Finn already planning tour with CrowdedHouse. He has used FleetwoodMac to raise his forgotten profile. Lindsey wouldn't have

It is just nasty not to speak to LBuckingham since his heart attack. Mick, John worked on the Buckingham McVie album. They worked well together it was great. Should have been a FleetwoodMac album. What does christine_mcvie think about this saga?

Coward!

ellellew To not even care about Lindsey after he almost died, after all he’s done for the band, Mick has revealed what a cowardly, shallow, ungrateful person he is. Truly disgusting.

FleetmacWood This is disappointing but not surprising. I didn’t go to the last tour and I don’t imagine I would bother to see them if they play again. I’d rather wait for a Lindsey Buckingham tour.

It’s disgraceful, after all those years, no one from the band called him after his heart attack. Lost an awful lot of respect and love for my favourite band after that, especially stevie nicks

I respect the band...but the way the ousted Lindsey was awful he brought them more fame & fortune and didn’t he ask if Stevie isn’t a part of the band then neither am I? So sad really.

Traitor.

Anything Fleetwood Mac instantly gets 'I'd Rather Jack' (than Fleetwood Mac) stuck in my head. 'Kill me.'

Nonetheless, you and Stevie put the screws to him. You behave like a ten year old, Mick. The Mac is not the Mac without Lindsay
