And how does he avoid these scenarios? It’s actually a lot more simple than you’d think…. When I’m leaving a client, it might be five hours they’re at an event, and you can have fabulous hair that looks great when you leave your house, but by the time you get to the stage it looks ruined - so you need something that’s going to keep that style all night.
“I went upstairs to sort Sophie [Turner] very quickly in between changes, and I got a message from Rosie’s stylist with just a picture of her hair half-fallen out and her chignon almost on the floor and I literally had a melt-down. “There was no way I had time to go back and re-do it - I had to get Sophie done super quick so I could change Rosie’s hair again, still with glitter all over my hands - I was dripping with sweat and all I could think was ‘this is the end of my career’. Luckily it was one of the best nights of it.”“I love an old Hollywood wave, and I think I’m probably synonymous with that in my career,” he laughs.
“It doesn’t necessarily work for everyone, but there’s a variations of the technique, sometimes more modern, sometimes more classical, but I always think it just screams movie star, always expensive, always luxury - and I think feeling is just as important as how you actually look.
