The #NewVetements venue was a darkened warehouse, lit mostly by the frow’s phone flashes and punctuated by lighting rigs. Models sauntered down a narrow runway in giant puffer jackets and faux fur to a Berghainy beat that had the fashion press nodding their heads.
There were the usual boxy-shouldered blazers, slogan hoodies, scarf dresses and bodyguard style earpieces, though this year glen-check glitter blazers, cycling shorts and a particularly creased satin evening-gown aired on the side of pedestrian. Tutu skirts fit for an '80s Madonna and a pair of ‘CENSORED’ crotched jeans took centre stage while slogan ‘NO SOCIAL MEDIA THANKYOU’ made a tongue-in-cheek statement about the whole experience.
