I am not in 23 Meteor Street, circa 1999. In fact, I’m in the BFI office in central London at the fag end of 2019. But by God, it’s easy to forget that, sitting opposite Nick Frost, Jessica Hynes and Simon Pegg, as they talk about their seminal sitcom Spaced, and each so jarringly reminiscent of their characters it verges on unnerving.

While writers like ruthjonesREAL and JamesCorden ruin a gem doing their GavinAndStaceyChristmasSpecial it's clear self respectable spaced writers know when a good thing needs appreciating for what it was - a classic. Seems good writers move on, untalented ones just rehash.
Loved ‘Spaced’. Was years ahead of its time and the writing was fantastic! Great work by Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright.
Not only has it dated, at least half the cast have become borderline insufferably smug.

Spaced was (and is) absolutely perfect. Feck me tho: the house it was partially filmed at is now worth £3.25 million !!?

I loved and still love Spaced but it really has aged. And it's only resulted in one person being a movie 'star', and that's largely down to him becoming a Scientologist, like his boss.
I loved Spaced, but it has dated badly, like every sitcom.
Absolutely love that show. So many quotable lines and scenes. Including Tyres raving to a pelican crossing. And Vulva's performance art. And of course the Resident Evil 2 reference. Was saddened by Frost n Pegg bit in the piece. Maybe Frost felt typecast as Mike?

It definitely feels like a product of the 90s to me, but in this case that's not a bad thing by any means. It's classic, not dated

Sadly have to disagree, and Spaced didn't make them movie stars.. Three Flavors Cornetto trilogy did eg Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World's End.
