Literature events, art exhibitions and charity fundraisers planned for Little Christmas

Glasnevin Cemetery Museum is running a special walking tour on Sunday afternoon to focus on female figures in Irish history, such as Irish revolutionaryThe women’s network of National University Galway is running a Monday evening talk on self care for women byIn Kildare, an art exhibition titled Making Marks and Markievicz will open in Newbridge Town Hall on Monday.

In Cork, a charity is hosting an afternoon tea fundraiser at the Fota island resort on Sunday. The event, run by Breakthrough Cancer Research, includes a gin reception, afternoon tea and a fashion showcase. The ticketed fundraiser is in its ninth year and will be hosted by journalist Deirdre O’Shaughnessy.

Cork Chamber of Commerce is also hosting a fundraiser to mark Nollaig na mBan in aid of homeless charity. The event in the Maryborough Hotel and Spa, in Douglas, Co Cork will take place on Sunday afternoon. An Grianán Theatre in Letterkenny, Co Donegal, is holding a Nollaig na mBan concert featuring female artists from the county for the second year in a row, in aid of Donegal Hospice on Sunday.

I'm a man. I cooked the entire Christmas Dinner in my house while my wife drank wine and mingled, I had no problem with it BTW. Should there be a man's Christmas too for other men in my position?

I don't know of any other country that has this tradition. It's so welcome. Often it's the Mums who make Christmas happen. They deserve it.

Christmas happened, 2 weeks ago now? It's a time of unity between Men and Women. Of course Feminists who want 'equality', need to have their own special little day. What a joke!
