Their hearts are in the right place but the way they are delivering this is quite unnerving because it just feels forced. To me its saying 'let's put in a transgender to meet a status quo.' There's nothing artistic about that, sounds like a business meeting decision.
Here's the thing: I don't have a problem with any of this stuff, but it feels forced and not organic. When you introduce diverse people, you never acknowledge their diversity, you acknowledge their character first and the diverse part always has to be an afterthought.
