Hundreds of thousands of people are set to gather in Melbourne's CBD to watch the New Year's Eve fireworks. 400,000 people are expected to swarm Melbourne's city centre on Tuesday night, with a cool change allowing the event to go ahead.
Sky News reporter Gabriella Power said there is a "great atmosphere" among the crowds as anticipation builds for the evening's fireworks show. "This year is set to be bigger and better than ever," Ms Power said. Melbourne's fireworks have an intergalactic space theme this year. Image: Getty
