Kelly Marie Tran’s Rose Tico got in the new film, just 1:16 by some measurements in a two and a half hour movie, around 10% of what she had inThe reaction to this has been twofold. On the one side, many believe that this was, or at least feels like, a deliberate response to pushback over Rose’s character in, where Tran was actually chased off social media due to harassment in the wake of the film’s debut.
“One of the reasons that Rose has a few less scenes than we would like her to have has to do with the difficulty of using Carrie Fisher’s footage in the way we wanted to,” Terrio explained. “We wanted Rose to be the anchor at the rebel base who was with Leia. We thought we couldn’t leave Leia at the base without any of the principals who we love, so Leia and Rose were working together.
And yet I don’t think this is all that satisfying of an explanation as it leaves a lot of other open questions.
Good riddance.
Good she was an awful character that people saw right through
Games I still say she was shafted. Regardless of your opinion on the character, Rose provided a viewpoint that we needed in TLJ to show that some people just don’t care who wins. She deserved more of a role in ROS.

The role wasn't going to move the plot any differently so the screen time doesn't matter.
